Five Things About WordPress 3.5

WordPress 3.5 is set to be released momentarily. As always, you’ll want to update your WordPress website to this new release as soon as possible.

If you’re not a fan of mysteries when it comes to software updates, spend six minutes watching this video and you’ll know what to expect when you upgrade to WordPress 3.5.

Note: I demonstrate the new Media Upload page in this screencast. Just moments after this was recorded the WordPress development team released a new version with a slightly redesigned screen. Conceptually, the two are the same (and very different from the old way of doing things). The WordPress Essentials course has already been updated for WordPress 3.5, including updates reflecting the new media upload page.

  1. The gallery functions of the new media screen have been a godsend. Exactly the things I felt were lacking – creating the galleries from the existing media library as opposed to uploading every picture to on the post to create a gallery and in my situation a lot of the gallery entries are reused often meaning duplicate images in the library.

  2. Great and short video. I noticed the difference in Media and as you mentioned before, it is so much easier to upload images and manage them.
I didn’t know about the Favourites plugin so thanks for that !
    Thanks for sharing
