Managing WordPress Comments

Posted by Kirk Biglione - November 3, 2011 - Blogging with WordPress, Getting Conversational

One of the greatest things about blogging is the immediate feedback a blogger gets from readers. Unfortunately, too much of a good thing can be challenging and problematic. Fortunately, WordPress has some great comment moderation tools.

This screencast demonstrates how to manage comments in WordPress. It also provides a in-depth overview of the WordPress discussion settings. Combined with the Akismet SPAM filter, discussion settings have a huge impact on the quality of comments that are published on your website.

For a more detailed discussion of Akismet, see the video on fighting SPAM.

@Emil – You can turn comments off through the discussion settings. I’ve broken the Discussion settings out into a separate video.

You can also turn off comments by unchecking the “Allow Comments” checkbox on any individual post or page.
